the daily drop cap

I'm sharing with you an awesome blog called the Daily Drop Cap. Daily Drop Cap is a project by designer & illustrator Jessica Hische, that started in September 2009. The best thing about her drop caps is anyone can use them for personal use and they beautify your blog. Hische no longer post on the daily drop cap blog because the project was completed when she designed the twelfth alphabet.

Being a graphic designer myself I look for inspiration in all sorts of places and these decorative letters are truly inspiring.

I was so excited when I found out my wedding would be featured on the Southern Weddings blog that I bounced around my house while calling everyone in my family to let them know the good news. When I called Mr. Hubs to tell him, his excitement failed to shine through like mine did. Guess he really just didn't understand how thrilled I was to hear the news, since I had been following this blog for months while planning our wedding. Had it not been for the lovely ladies at Vue Photography our wedding may have never been discovered, so a BIG thanks goes out to them for sending the photos.

i'm obsessed...

My parent's came to visit Steve and I in Charleston last week and while they were here they bought an awesome lamp for my birthday. They purchased it from GDC Home, quite possibly my favorite furniture store in Charleston, if you're ever in this part of the woods you must go. The best part about this purchase is the fact that we found it in the clearance room marked way down because the switch was broken and the store was having a 20% off sale! Thank goodness my dad is very handy because we were able to replace the broken switch for only $3, quite the bargain! The lamp stunned my hubby when he arrived home because of it's massive size but I think it's finally starting to grow on him.

a new year and the start of a new journey

Today is my 27th birthday and the beginning of a new and exciting year for me to look forward to! I officially got married to my best friend a little over a month ago, quit my job in Greenville, SC and moved to Charleston, SC to start a new journey with my hubby.

While I've thought about starting a blog for some time now I've finally decided to hit the floor running and go for it. During the wedding planning process I spent countless hours on blogs pouring over tons of inspiration to create the prefect dream wedding but now that it's all over with and I'm starting the next chapter in my life I'd like to begin documenting Steve and I turning our house into a HOME!

We purchased our first home together a few months ago and now that I've moved in of course I have plenty of ideas of the things I'd like to do but as many of you may know it's a never ending process.

As a graphic designer I love all types of design and plan to share the things that inspire me with you!

So while I've never been good a keeping a diary I'm challenging myself to start a blog. Let's see what happens....
